Robert Johnson was one of best defensive players to ever play at the University of Utah. His unmatched speed and natural ability hunt down any pass thrown his way helped propel the Utes to become the only undefeated FBS team in 2008 and shock the world by embarrassing the juggernaut Alabama Crimson Tide in the Sugar Bowl. Few can forget his 13 career interceptions (including 6 in his senior season, two of which came in the Sugar Bowl) which ranks him at 5th on the school’s all time interceptions list. But often over looked is Robert’s near superhuman speed, which helped him prevent more than a few touchdowns from break away receivers and half backs.
In 2010 RoJo’s natural abilities, matched with his uncompromising work eithic, landed him a spot with the Tennessee Titans. Now he is back for his second season with a greater understanding and a fierce determination to showcase his talents on the world’s biggest stage.
In this episode, Robert makes his first appearance on Dog and Deuce to discuss the Utes, Titans, lockout and his new membership in the School of the Legends.
We also preview BYU’s upcoming season. We break down the Cougars’ schedule and give our prediction on where they will be at the end of their first season of independence. Can BYU stand up the challenge of facing Ole Miss, Texas and Utah in consecutive games? Will they have their revenge on the Utah State Aggies? Can they finally stick it to Gary Patterson and the TCU Horned Frogs? And will their efforts be enough to finally propel them to that elusive BCS bowl game?
