Dog and Deuce #34 – Holy War 2011: Media Predictions

September 15, 2011
Don’t forget to enter the opening week of Picks to Click presented by Survival Straps for your chance to win a custom made Survival Strap with your choice of colors!

Its rivalry week in the state of Utah…and its September.  Although it may seem strange to be discussing this year’s Holy War when the weather is warm and the leaves have yet to even change color, the annual Utah vs BYU game here!

Question marks surround both teams’ offenses while both defenses have stepped up their play.  The Cougars and Utes are so similar at this point that we enlisted the help of some members of the local media to help break down the rosters and figure out who will have the edge on Saturday.  Bill Riley from ESPN 700 joined us to give the perspective of someone who has covered both sides of this heated rivalry.  What does Jordan Wynn need to do to put together successful drives?  Can Jake Heaps have a break out game?

Charles Kano runs TrueBlueCougars.com and regularly contributes to the Deseret News and KSL.  He was kind enough to call up and give us his breakdown of the game as a BYU insider, analyst and the most objective homer in the history of sports.

Grant (a.k.a. “The Man In Charge”) of TornBySports.com stopped by for an impromptu round table discussion.  Which offensive coordinator does he think has been most effective this year?  Should Brandon Doman be getting all this criticism?
